The F-18 Hornet aircraft is an all-weather fighter and attack aircraft. Made by the McDonnell Douglas, F18 Hornet aircraft is a multi-role fighter, designed to attack both ground and aerial targets. The single-seat F/A-18 Hornet is the nation's first strike-fighter. F/A-18 Hornet was designed for traditional strike applications such as interdiction and close air support without compromising its fighter capabilities. Since 1986, the F18 Hornet has been the aerial demonstration aircraft of the US Navy Blue Angels. The primary mission of the F/A-18 Hornet are fighter escort, fleet air defense, suppression of enemy air defense (SEAD), interdiction, close air support and reconnaissance. The later versions of the F-18 produce more thrust than the “A” model. The McDonnell Douglas rolled out the first F/A-18A on the 13th of September, in blue-on-white colors, marked with Navy on the left side while Marines on the other side. The US Navy's Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron proudly flies the F/A-18 Hornet.
