This Grumman F-11 Tiger model airplane is creatively made from kiln-dried mahogany wood, carefully hand carved and pleasingly hand painted. Our craftsmen carefully hand carved the mahogany wood to have the right specification of the scaled Grumman F11F Tiger Blue Angels. From the carving of the fuselage to the wings the F11 Tiger wood model airplane, it is then sanded for finer texture and to be able to achieve the details of the wing. The armaments of F11F Tiger wooden model airplane are carefully carved and positioned for more precision and accuracy. The detailed mahogany wood F11F Tiger model will then be polished for to provide a protective finish and then hand painted according to the actual paint scheme of the actual F11 Tiger as flown by the US Navy Blue Angels. The F11F-1 Tiger flown by the Blue Angels was a carrier-based, single-seat United States Navy (USN) fighter aircraft in operation during 1950 and 1960's. Manufactured by Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation, the F11F Tiger was the fifth and final Grumman fighter utilized by the US Navy Blue Angels. In April 1955 it was originally designated as F11F Tiger under the pre-1962 Navy designation system. The Grumman F11F Tiger was first introduced as a "short-nose" model but when the Blue Angels obtained the "long-nose" version of the F11F-1 Tigers in 1959, yet, the markings were reverted back to the familiar paint scheme of the Blue Angel, the "Blue Angel Blue and the Yellow. " The F11F-1 Tiger of Grumman was used by the Blue Angels flight team from 1957 to 1969. The F11F-1 Tiger was the Grumman's supersonic F11F, the Grumman F11F was a stronger airplane than the F9F-8, the afterburners' noise was the crowd pleaser, and the burner was the main reason for going to Grumman F11F-1 Tiger. The power of the Grumman F11F Tiger allowed the Blues show to become maneuverable in vertical motion than horizontal and in that way the Tiger F11F remained within the area of the airfield.
