The HH-60 Jayhawk is a twin-engine medium-range search and rescue (SAR) helicopter, based on the airframe of the SH-60 Seahawk. Besides SAR, it is used for drug interdiction, cargo lift, and special operations. It was developed for the United States Coast Guard to replace the aging Sikorsky HH-3F Pelican in 1986.

The HH-60J allows four flight crews. It has a length of 19.8 meters; height of 5.2 meter; maximum speed of 180 knots; cruise speed of 140 knots; range of 700 nautical miles; service ceiling of 5,000feet hovering; and its powered by 2× General Electric T700-GE-401C gas turbines, 1,980 hp (1,476 kW) each.
