Model Airplane Factory offers handmade Coast Guard HU16 Albatross Wood Model Airplane, artistically created from the finest grade of kiln-dried Mahogany wood. This HU-16 Albatross USCG mahogany display model has a dimension of 18.8" wingspan and has a length of 12". USCG HU-16 Albatross model airplane is attached to a durable wooden base so you can place it wherever you like it!

Albatrosses assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard originally designated UF-1G were reclassified as HU-16E, and the 10 supplied to Canada were designated CSR-110. The HU-16 Albatross was purchased by the Coast Guard in 1951. It held nine world records for amphibian speed, altitude, and endurance.

he Coast Guard had 91 Grumman HU-16Es (Albatross), the first being delivered in May, 1951. These aircraft, known in the USCG as "The Goat," flew for over 500,000 hours while in service with the Coast Guard. On March 10, 1983, the last Coast Guard Albatross, number 7250, made its final landing at Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod. The last true amphibious seaplane flown by the Coast Guard was then retired from service.
